Knife blade sharpen machine operation guild 

1. Knife mounting – Place the long blade flat on the table. Clamp it using mechanical clamps or a magnetic chuck.

   Adjust blade overhang (usually 1–3 mm) and ensure the entire edge is parallel to the grinding head travel direction.

 2. Angle setting – Tilt the table to the required bevel angle based on original knife angle or application (e.g., 40° for planer knives).

 3. Start grinding –

      · Start coolant pump, spray grinding zone.

      · Start grinding head motor, wheel rotates at high speed.

      · Start feed motor – grinding head traverses from one end to the other (one pass).

  4. Reciprocating sharpening –

      · Manual mode: operator controls traverse and applies a small infeed (e.g., 0.05–0.1 mm) per pass.

     · Semi‑auto/auto mode: set number of passes and infeed amount; machine automatically cycles “traverse – infeed – traverse” until the edge is fully sharp.

 5. Finish – Raise grinding head, stop coolant, unclamp the blade. Inspect edge for no burrs or burning – sharpening complete.
