Product Introduction
Why do wood veneers need to be dried in plywood production?
Wood veneers must be dried for the following key reasons:
1. To ensure sufficient bonding strength of the adhesive. High moisture content will weaken the glue bond, leading to delamination and blistering.
2. To stabilize the moisture content of veneers and prevent warping, twisting or deformation of the finished plywood.
3. To prevent mold, decay and discoloration during storage and processing.
4. To avoid board bursting or blistering caused by excessive moisture during hot pressing.
The standard moisture content for veneer in plywood production is generally 8%–12%.
